And yet the pervert of the United States sits smugly in the nation’s capital. And Alabama readies to elect a molester of teenage girls. What is happening to the moral fiber of my country?

Sandra Robertson · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

Still have not seen the proof. Do you really expect for someone to believe that in a setting with 100’s of people standing around this man would put his career at risk and no one saw anything? Give me a break! And as far as the picture when he was a comedian not a senator is concerned is not a reason he should resign. This crap is getting out of hand. 😡😡😡😡 This state has just lost a good man.

Wendi Lee · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

Strange principle is emerging:
If you admit misconduct, you resign. But if you deny it, however compelling or voluminous the testimony against you, you continue in office-or on to office-with impunity?

Sonny Roman · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

Democrats forced Al Franken to resigned. What does this mean for Alabama senator candidate and leader in the White House several women’s accused him of sexual assault.

This whole thing stinks to high heaven to me. They got rid of a champion of net neutrality at a time the FCC is trying to do away with it, without even letting him have the investigation he called for. It is not fair to the American people. They should have let him stay and fight for net neutrality and waited to make a decision until the investigation was completed. Now who is fighting to save net neutrality? It is so convenient for so many corporate donors who are trying to get rid of it. I wish we could focus on saving a free and open internet for the American people instead of throwing Franken under the bus for a hyped up GOP smear campaign, when he was one of the leading voices in the fight to save net neutrality. I wish the media could spend even a fraction of the time it spent hyping this Breitbart hit job against Franken instead on covering the fight to save net neutrality and the freedom of the internet.

Democratic women who think this is a “right action” based on right and just thinking are a profound disappointment to those of us who experienced and have fought systemic sexual abuse.

The proof of where this “Zero Tolerance” fever will take us can be found in how these type of policies have abused our children in schools. Research across the US tells us they don’t help, but they do effectively abuse everyone involved in such a System. We need to keep this movement going. But we must also think first about the demands we make and act not just in anger, but with right thinking and action.

It is so painful to watch. He was one of the best. He cared about people and the country. Whatever he did can not be worse than where our country is heading right now. Forgiveness is the key.

Teresa Roark · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

I am sorry to see him go I felt he was a good Senator I believe of what he is accuse of happen when he was a comidan not the intent that is being portrayed America has lost a Senator of the people sad day

Carl C Eppler · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

So the democrats have achieved the “moral high ground”……? That along with less than a majority of votes……………when will they learn. YOU need a majority to get your stuff passed, there will never be Bi Partisan ever again, the GOP don’t want it.

Kathryn Disney · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

I cannot express my disappointment enough in the Democratic Party right now. You just threw one of your own under the bus. Shame, Shame on you. I will not vote for any of you. You just gave away 2018.

Disgusting excuse of a speech from this creep. What arrogance! No humility! No apology! Trying to excuse his sins by bringing up others. His true cowardly character outed…

Kathleen Horne · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

The out and out hypocrisy here is ridiculous. Sen Franken was tough on Sessions and now he has to resign while the guy who brags about abusing women sits in the Oval Office. What a joke. I can’t wait to hear all the republicans eager to speak out about Roy Moore. Oh that’s right he has their unconditional support. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Paul Brown · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

Here you have a man of one party knowingly did wrong, admitted he did wrong, appologized and is resigning from public office even though he has only been accused of sexual misconduct or it has been alledged of sexual misconduct, that takes (class, dignity, grace and respect). Then you have men of another party denying any accusations or allegations of any sexual misconduct and calling all those (accusers) women liars, (no class, no dignity, no morals, no values and no respect). It seems like one party is all about “Greed, Power, Donations and self-interest’s over Country…”

Torres Lucy · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

Trump And Moore didn’t force your hand to grab women’s boobies. Own it. Photos of you in action. Stop trying to deflect onto others what you have been caught doing. Doing and talking about sex are 2 different things. Men harmlessly talking about sex in a locker room or van is quite different to you grabbing boobies or forcing a girl to kiss you on a pretense of rehearsal. Then there’s physical proof, the pictures. Bye FELICIA…plus 8 accusers.

Marianna Drost · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

There are too many unanswered question regarding the accusations against Sen. Franken. My note to Sen. Franken, the sadness of what is taking place because of what has happened to you is heart breaking. The unnamed woman who claimed you told her you have the right to kiss her because you are an “entertainer” is an out and out lie. This is the attitude of trump, his words, how did we get to this terrible place. Stay strong in the knowledge that you are not alone. Shame on the democrats who failed you and “We The People”. Politics? If so then Dems you are also responsible for turning politics into a four letter word.

Catherine Cease-Flores · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

Way to switch the blame. Again, Trump got the excuse because the liberals excused Bill Clinton’s history. You reap what you sow. Can’t take the high ground when Democrats are equally swimming in their own crap. 🙄

Enessco Turner · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

Have a woman accuse you of sexual harassment at work. Any corporation will fire you. Have more than one come forward, you don’t stand a chance even at a private business.

So why is it ok for highest people in office to have multiple woman come forward?

Consequences

Gail Robinson · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

Thank you for owning up. GOP Grand Old Perverts.

Carrie Jean · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

This man I took the HIGH ROAD…. he will be HONORED and RESPECTED for his decision. .I WILL NEVER FORGET. His work is not yet done!!! A model of the new man….we can all grow and change. ..it’s always our CHOICE.

Jim Rooney · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

James Trout pay attention to this wording and why I think democrats are planning an all out assault against Roy Moore if he wins.

Connie Corbin Caruso · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

And what about this ethics committee? Is it only in name only? You won’t use it? Something stinks in Washington DC, and it starts at the head!

Debbie Lee Connell · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

He sure is!!! Just can’t accept it and has to drag others with him…good riddance….go back to SNL where you can get away with that behavior

Ray Shields · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

I’m confused. In America aren’t we innocent until proven guilty? Proven is the key word. I wouldn’t resign if allegations were false….would you?

Christina Barcelli · December 8, 2017 at 10:32 am

Mens locker room “talk” and sexually ASSAULTING someone are 2 different things. YOU are accused of sexual assault-You stupid sexual predator fool.
