Dropping like flies. No one wants their reputation and career connected to this disgusting mistake of a President.

Jerome Dawkins · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

I just heard from an American who happens to be a Republican. He has witnessed, like the rest of us, the erratic actions of this president and was willing to stand up and be brave enough to speak out against it. More Republicans should have some of the backbone the Mr. Flake has. Mr. Flake has demonstrated that he cares for America more that he cares for being re-elected. I have to salute his stance and courage.

So sad that Republicans of character can’t remain in the GOP. Watching a complicit Congress ignore a dangerous mentality unstable man harm our country. They never put the country first. Wacko extremism has taken control of today’s Republican Party.

Sharon Doherty · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

Great speech and very true!! -45 is dangerous, lacks moral authority (lacks morals in general), is a weak, pathetic bully, and is just a disgrace to the country. Flake is also right when he says that nobody should sit quietly and watch -45 destroy this country.

Lesley Richardson · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

Great speech but he’s a coward for not staying and trying to fix the problem……45 needs to be removed……so stay and fight……and Sarah Huckabee sanders is a disgrace to all women she’s nothing more than trumps bitch

Mary Petersen · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

Thank you Senator Flake…..The (so called) Republicans who remain silent are complicit with a Treasonous President who is trying to establish a Fascist Oligarchy. You stand among those who are, and have been, the greatest Patriots of our Nation. We are still waiting to see how many American Patriots are left in this hateful dysfunctional Congress. Trump is a threat to our National Security and to our International stability. He is a sick and delusional pathological lying psychopath who has abused the Office of the Presidency on every level. He is incompetent and a direct threat to our Military. Those in Congress who remain silent on this issue are complicit in the destruction of our Democracy. They are as guilty of treason as this sick president. Thank you for your bravery and standing for moral high ground. This stand is not political….it is incumbent to remove this President from office for the protection of the American people.

Those republicans who feel the 🍊💩 is a disgrace and are leaving congress instead of getting him out are cowards without principles. They don’t care for the country or the people any more than those who stay and continue to fuck us over.

Shirley Utterback-Wilson · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

As a liberal Democrat I would not imagine I would support what a Republican senator had to say. But this man is brave enough to speak out and speak the truth, and for that I admire him!

Carol Lazarr · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

My Az rino, 1 of 2, Senator Flake, won’t run next year. His Soros dollars & donors dried up. He knows he’d be held responsible for lack of efforts in a totally Republican controlled Senate that sat on 200 approved House bills. Take your buddy traitor McShame with you, hopefully he will have already left the building. Draining the swamp!

John Naughton · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

That was one masterful speech, unequivocally taking down Liar-in-Chief.
It was a modern day version of the question posed to the repugnant Sen Joe McCarthy in the 1950s,
“At Long last, have you left no sense of decency?”
Will any other GOP pols begin standing up now?
Perhaps not, however this is a good start.
Taking the time to Google and read the entire speech, is well worth the time.

Carol Aulwes Jakl · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

An amazing speech!! I didn’t usually agree with “old” Republican values, but at one time people did reach across the aisle and talked to each other!!! I hate “attack” politics and 45 is a high school bully (actually, that is too generous, grade school) expert at it!

Eric Goldstein · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

The GOP has to toughen up and show the leadership that put them in charge in the first place. Until then I’ll consider them complicit in tearing this country apart. It’s up to you to save this country from this unhinged nightmare. This can’t go on till 2020.

Rome Teixeira · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

Good folks, If it were not for the Constitution, our country would be in even worse trouble with this guy in the Oval Office, who is constantly attempting to subvert this precious document. Shamefully, the Republican Party, who have the audacity to call themselves patriots, have the means to stop him, but they are instead enabling him. It appears to always be winning politics with them–not what’s right.

It’s funny, before he was elected, I knew what a shit head he was, but they’re all surprised by his behavior?! Like what planet are you living on, that you didn’t notice Trump was a bad idea??

Deena Raybuck · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

Preach it! Trump is a bad excuse for a president and human being then again this is exactly what Steve bannon wants he wants to get rid of traditional republicans to replace them with the most vile of human beings. Do not let this happen!

Ann Grayce Toran · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

It’s unfortunate that “moderate” Republicans (who would’ve been far right not long ago) don’t feel that they can be Republicans and not be pro-Trump. But they brought it on themselves, I suppose.

Martha Coit Tyler · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

Unheard of amazing speech from a Republican. Not to many actually have honesty, integrity, principles, decency, values and courage like Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona. Kudos!

Sherryl Huber · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

Kudos to this man whose integrity means more to him than remaining on a bandwagon of destructive behavior by the President of the United States.

Gayle Campbell · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

Another one bites the dust.. Then vote what you believe in and not your party.. Trump needs to be stopped with tax reform and health care. Both will benefit the rich and kill the rest of America….. Wake up.

George Oetker · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

As an outsider (not from Arizona), I am thinking that, perhaps, Senator Flake should either run for reelection as a Republican –in order to try to bring sanity back to the Republican Party, or immediately switch parties and join a political party more in line with his beliefs — in other words, join the Democratic Party.

Sheila Duncan · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

Agree 💯 Stand even if you have to Stand alone! A man of honesty and integrity will always take a Stand!!
This country is on a downward spiral in morality and ethics! We All need to Stand Up and Say what needs to said!
Read Hosea 4 This is America today!
Thank you!
Great speech!

Derrick Jason Caban · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

I’m so glad that he, and others, are sharing their disdain for the dotard, but they’re not doing us a service by ‘dropping out.’ We need his critics to seek reelection, and continue to speak out.
I know that they fear losing if they do so, because Trump will tell his clan to vote for the person who’ll kiss his arse, but a loss will not be fruitless, it could inspire other Republicans to grow a spine.

Mary Ellen Bradshaw · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

ANOTHER Republican speaks out against Trump and this administration, putting country before party! Thank you, Senator!

Barbara Impagliazzo · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

This is proving that the GOP is getting rid of any and all “Moderate” Republicans. They have been working on that for a number of years.

Cesar Huerta Duarte · November 1, 2017 at 5:25 am

I was wrong, I had the idea that all Republicans law makers were pretty much spineless, and afraid to stand with those who believe this president is joke, for that ,I apologize
