Focusing on the instrument of evil will solve nothing. Evil exists and always will. Protecting ourselves from it is all we can do. You would think from what you see at a big event like the Golden Globe Awards that there must be security. But you would be surprised to know that there were hidden snipers placed to react to any high ground shooter. That’s the way we need to think. Even on a smaller scale like a country church. Unfortunately for us we live in a very troubled hate-filled time, where the fires are stoked by the media, politics and entertainers. While it is sad to be where we are it behooves us to be vigilant in our personal protection.

I can’t imagine living in a state where people just walk around carrying firearms everywhere. That’s so disturbing, these are tools made for killing. Why are people so obsessed with them that they are willing to allow these mass murders to continue?

Gerald L Siano · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

trump blames Mental Illness but signs an Executive Order giving the mentally ill to easily purchase Military style weaponry. Does this imbecile have any idea what he is doing?

Terry L Gunter · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

CNN’s lies and the other fake news gave the idiot the Ammo he needed! He thought all the lies were true and acted on it. I hope all the fake news are happy, you are the cause of all this! I think the American people and all the victims should take CNN to court along with all the other lying media!

August 5, 2012, Oak Creek Wisconsin – a Right-wing nutball who can’t tell the difference between Muslims and Sikhs enters a Sikh temple and murders 6 people, thinking they were Muslim.

Lisa Gray · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

You should be vetted trying to buy a gun just as rigorously as people are vetted trying to enter the country.. Terrorists could be any where.

Jennifer Rhodes Barth · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

Dishonorably discharged vet breaks gun laws.

Armed citizen following gun laws stops him.

Gun control debate is over. Move along!

Alberto Ortiz · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

More guns in church is the answer?, … God isn’t enough? Just asking.

The USA has become a huge research and development laboratory for the gun industry with the help of the NRA, …and all that for free!!! Amazing!

Peter Jezierny · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

If you want to give in to the. Voices in your head and go kill pock a safe place where no one can carry.

Terri Chapman · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

If laws prevented people from murdering then the law making it illegal to murder someone should be all we need.

Rick Richards · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

PSA: Libtopians could make eleventy brazillion new gun laws, but the truth of the matter is that bad guys don’t obey the law.

Margaret Jones · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

“Mass shooting in US checklist”:
1. Send thoughts & prayers but not actually do anything useful✔
2. Argue over semantics of the term “assault rifle”✔
3. Argue over semantics of the term “terrorist” – if Muslim use it, if Christian/white use term “lone wolf” “mentally ill” “troubled past” ✔
4. Congress does nothing but NRA increases donations just in case ✔
5. Wait for next one, rinse, repeat✔

I’m going to agree with Donald Trump this one time just to make him out of the fool he is.
He said the shooting in Texas was a mental problem not a gun one. Ok Donald, then do something about that mental problem by making it harder for that mental patient to buy that gun and I guarantee you, at least one child’s life will be spared. Because one life lost is one too many.

Thomas Klein · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

The kid was not even legally allowed to own a firearm as a felon, yet he still obtained one..

T Jill Cecil · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

The definition of entitlement is people having fun with guns is more important than human life.

Steve Renko · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

Americans love their guns. No bullet likes life.

Mary Kay Buttery · November 7, 2017 at 6:30 am

ACTIONS SPEAK….Thoughts & prayers are not enough!

Trump believes the Texas mass shooting “isn’t a guns situation” but instead “a mental health problem.”Then maybe we should talk about Trump’s record on expanding gun access to the mentally impaired.
You cannot be part of the solution, when you are part of the problem…
Based on a standard they do not live by, there are many who in persuing their own best interest cunningly seize the moral high ground as they attack others all over the world; Conveniently they knowingly omit the pit boss in the White House.

As a LV area resident I remember the USA born white male who killed 59 people. After the Las Vegas massacre it was too early to talk about gun control!! So far, nothing has been accomplished. And, a bump stock maker has resumed sales..

‘To Republicans in Congress who might feel uneasy about responding to this tragedy with laws that might prevent the next one, we offer this grim reference. Rather than responding to Sutherland Springs, act as though the legislation was responding to the mass shootings in Las Vegas, Dallas, Orlando, San Bernardino, Colorado Springs, Roseburg, Chattanooga, Charleston, Marysville, Isla Vista, Fort Hood, Santa Monica, or Sandy Hook Elementary School, to name a few’.—NYT

How many more lives will it take??????——
The bar has never been set so low.
What is it gonna take, USA?
Come on prove me wrong..That would really really please me!. ——

Churches need security inside out, while the mentally-ill shouldn’t be able to acquire guns.
