Looks like the scariest monster this Halloween is, once again, ‘cultural appropriation.’

Go Ahead, Let Your Girl Dress as Moana

Do you have to be of Transylvanian heritage to dress up as Dracula? Do you have to be Egyptian to be the Mummy?

Not a single liberal I know, myself included, give a flying fudge who dresses like Moana. You don’t like being treated like a monolith. Stop characterizing liberals as one

Kate Barnett · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

“Halloween” or Samhian (SAW-win) is a Celtic harvest and ancestors celebration. So by these butthurt narcissists logic, they shouldn’t have anything to do with it in the first place!….

Kevin Steffanson · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

Little girls would dress up as Moana because they think Moana is awesome and they admire her… what the hell is wrong with that?

Phyllis McDaniel · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

Why does everything have to be about race????? Evidently children who want to be Moana, don’t see race.. They see someone who makes them happy.
Get over the race crap, and enjoy life thru the eyes of these children…. You just might find out that race wasn’t that big of a deal to you, either!!!

John Vanderski · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

Progress apparently means herding Americans into their respective ghettoes, never to share with others. A diversity of segregation. We’ve come so far since 1865. Almost like the Democrats won that war…

Terri LeBleu · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

Just when I think things can’t get any crazier, I’m wrong! My granddaughters love Moana. Race had NOTHING to do with it. They just love the Disney story!

Screw stupid, asinine Political Correctness AKA Controlling Peoples’ Behavior Via Systemic Guilt Intimidation. If your kids want to dress as Eskimos, Mexicans, Serbians, Chinese, Burmese, etc., let them. The Left and Libs are stupid, deranged, moron @$$holes.

Patrick O'Connor · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

There is no such thing as ‘cultural appropriation’. It’s called ‘assimilation’, and it’s a GOOD thing.

Melissa Smith Mori · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

This is SO ridiculous. This constant focus on racial identity is going to further divides. How about everyone agree we’re all human and treat everyone with kindness and respect?

Steve Hinchey · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

“The Left used to insist on seeing people as individuals, not as members of groups. The goal used to be that kids of different races would play together oblivious to one another’s superficial differences. This was commendable, and many a race barrier has fallen. Now the Left is determined to put those barriers back up, to teach kids to obsess over race.”

Interesting tidbit, the fastest growing groups in the country are black segregational groups.

With so many dopey Leftist ideas out there it is impossible to decide which is the dopiest. But, “cultural appropriation” is definitely in the running.

Ivy Greenidge · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

If Polynesian people have a problem with it, then stop doing it. Rather, get to learn and understand their culture, and maybe they’ll invite you to participate anyway.

Sherri Hinde · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

What ever happened to “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”. Imagine that! Little girls think it’s cool to be polynesian.

Rob Forster · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

I wasactually moved to watch part of this animated film last night, on Netflix. It is an excellent move about a brave and powerful young woman and anyone who thinks ANYONE dressing as this girl would constitute racism is hiding some very racist dark thoughts of their own. Freud called it ‘projection.’

Melissa Riley · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

So only Hawaiian 🌺 Polynesian girls can wear this? Moana is for everyone just like every other princess 👸🏻/ super hero is for everyone 🙄🙄🙄

Lori Straley · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

Guess i have to apologize for blond daughters going as Pocahontas, princess Jasmin, Belle, Mulan, Xena, Princess Leah, Senator Amedalla, Wonder Woman , Super Girl…….

Rick Fitzgerald · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

Better yet, your son. When they inevitably cry cultural appropriation claim they’re being transphobic.

Gabi Schneidman · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

But black sopranos like Jessye Norman, Kathleen Battle, Leontyne Price singing opera roles isn’t cultural appropriation…. for that matter black football players?

Ingrid Thomson Fuhriman · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

Want to talk “cultural appropriation?” How about all the Americanisms that are “appropriated” by minorities and immigrants not to mention millions world wide. I think of the world copying us as a compliment so if we “appropriate” something good or tasty from another culture folks should just be flattered. If not stop sulking and be grateful fate hasn’t given you something real to worry about.

Matt MacBradaigh · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

If Libtard parents get triggered by a kid loving something (gasp!) from another culture so much they want to dress up as it (which honors it), they can pop an artery.

Leftist Anti-Semitism · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

The entire concept of cultural appropriation is toxic. But, if one must, then one must note that the Dome of the Rock is the ultimate symbol of cultural appropriation, being built on top of and to appropriate the Jewish Temple and all.

Jozef Andrew · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

SJWs hate Halloween because they don’t have kids; they prefer dogs and abortions…

Brad Anderson · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

LET YO HALLOWEEN FREAK FLAG FLY

Mona Bishop · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

Then is a man that identifies as a woman appropriating female culture?

Tom Givens · November 1, 2017 at 5:13 am

Jamie Givens, here’s a good article discussing the ridiculousness of this non issue
