Our politics often differ but I will never deny your service to country and will always consider you a true hero. It most often in not about how you vote but what is in your heart. A shame that the most hateful things I read about you come from your own party. You sir have a good heart and no one can or should question your love of country. Cheers and thank you for your service.

Thank you for your service Sen. McCain. In my book you ARE a hero!

Kenny Wilburn · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

Cindy L. Avila..Can we say deflection? Trump said McCain was no hero. Bone spur boy had the nerve to say that. He’s yours.

Penny Moore · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

The clandestine, fake Clinton-DNC dossier was Clinton’s ‘October Surprise’ to be sprung on Trump to finish him off before the election.

Only one problem – it was seen as ‘fake’ by the media after it was shopped in DC for weeks.

McCain moved it forward by giving it credibility with the FBI and Clapper furthered it by having it included in background briefing material for President-elect Trump – it was never used.

It was used to get the FISA Court to authorize spying on Trump, his campaign, family and friends.

Crank up the grand juries!

Hey, Drumpf, you can’t hold a candle to McCains giving to this country! Thank you Senator McCain for your service and your dedication. I am a Democrat and can still appreciate your sacrifice and be thankful!

Donald Pelton · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

Trump said he wasn’t a hero because he allowed himself to be captured, but if you land in the middle of the enemy capital in the middle of the day with three broken bones, escape is extremely difficult.

Emily Williams · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

As I watched that footage of Sen McCain, I couldn’t help but compare the behavior of the senator w/Trump. I can’t believe they are the same species. So many emotions come flooding to the surface. The word that comes to mind for Trump is despicable. This Country has survived because of men like John McCain.

Suzanne Allen Crabtree · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

Senator McCain is a man of true courage and I have the utmost respect for him. Anyone who disrespects him or any of our military is the ultimate coward.

Marcia Thomas · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

McCain’s military background shows courage and honor above and beyond. Most will wonder if we could have walked in his shoes. To be berated by a draft dodger like Trump is an insult. Those of us who remember the draft for VietNam war know that Trump’s bones spurs were paid for to help him avoid serving his country in time of war. Nobody wanted to fight that war but many answered the call. Heroes all.

Paula Kerbel · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

Don’t always agree with his policies but he is the definition of a “war hero”! Just as trump is the definition of a “moron”!

Kai Jagoda · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

I once read that 10 people like John are equal to 500 regulars. 🙂 Something like that. Well, John is special. We appreciate John

I believe all service men and women are heroes
But there’s something I don’t understand
Why did his captors nickname him the song bird? And why when he came home was he facing a court-martial for treason?
I know that President Nixon gave him a pardon so there was no trial
I’m just looking for answers

Judith Barnett Griffin · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

How could Trump denigrate this great hero is beyond decency. No matter Senator McCain’ s politics, he is a hero of this Nation and a great and wonderful man. Shame on Trump who is no patriot of this country and bringing our Nation to disgrace. He should be removed ASAP.

Roland Edge · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

After the torture McCain went through I understand why a certain President dodged the draft five times. 😏

Patricia Louissaint · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

Don’t let Comrade Orange sully your legacy. You are a true hero! A true patriot! Your contributions to this country have been far more significant then your fellow party members. Don’t you ever forget that.

We salute you!

Mazyar Saidi · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

And that Orange fakeness who WAS Pussy GRABBING at the time Vietnam war is mocking him. And the IDIOTS love that. DISGUSTING.

Joan Landry · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

Yet Senator McCain voted in favor of the Iraq war, which like Vietnam turned out to be a killingfield sold to the American people by politicians who saw an opportunity to make themselves and their buddies wealthy. He should have known better, ferchrissake.

Ellen Gorman · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

To stay when he could have been released, because his men had to stay, is the highest level of heroism. Wish he was a dem. But, oh well.

Caroline Nobbs · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

I can’t even express how much anger I have toward Trumps words about John McCain. Its just blows me away how ignorant and nasty he can be.

Dawn Larson · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

Watch the french documentary “Pilots in Pajamas” before judging. Clearly, there is much more to the McCain story. The documentary interviews American POWs inside the camp. Including McCain and I believe it is on YouTube .. many of that era have it on VHS.

Jocelynne Jason · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

OK yeah I’m sure that was bad but has he ever had bone spurs?
I have not always agreed with John McCain – most often not – but he is a hero.

Ana Gonzalez-Pulido · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

Songbird McCain was a traitor n Nixon pardoned his court martial cause Daddy n Granddaddy were Navy Admirals n look up how 132 men were killed on his ship which was McCains fault n the list goes on .. he’s no hero he’s a traitor .. please inform yourselves!!!

Deedee Isie · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

That’s the man who have moral authority to command the armed forces in this country. Not this buffoon who fake bone spur to avoid draft.

Penny Shorey Mitchell · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

I have to laugh. For weeks I was saying give this American Hero a break. He is getting old it is time for him to go home. What did I get from the left…hero like hell, traitor, spoiled navy brat, father got him off, etc. Now that he is leaning towards the left, he’s a hero again. How sick we are as a nation.

Val Lyons · November 1, 2017 at 9:06 am

I’m not American. I am Irish. nor am I republican. but what an admirable honourable and reasonable man who in my view is a ‘war hero’ having fought for his country and served his country in government even after serving in the war. Well done McCain – a true patriot. I wish you well.
