Love this, Trump is so impassioned about opioid problem, yet he doesn’t want to do anything about it. Something like Puerto Rico. The place he bragged about helping so much, yet a majority of homes are still out of power.

She did such a good job ridding society of “bullying”, she thought she had time to take on the opioid crisis. Yeh, that’ll work. OR, living with the bully-in-chief she could not make any impact, her personal failure on the bullying scene. So she went over to substance abuse, as 45 is abhorrent to drink or smoke. Easier task for her on this one, at least she won’t be made a fool of by him.

How about going after big pharmaceutical companies who deliver huge quantities of drugs to strip mall doctors who make it easier for people to further their addiction? 60 Minutes did a very informative piece on this a few weeks ago. But wait, big pharma donates to the Republicans, so never gonna happen. 😪

Dealing with this epidemic will take more than her experiences and the president’s well written speech. CBT, Vivitrol, psychiatrists, psychologists, 12 step, big pharma, mentors, schools, doctors, families, communities… and much more. “Just say no”
doesn’t help those already sick with this disease. Let’s see what happens after today …

This was a Joke as this POTUS took the podium and looked his Base Constituents in the face and said indirectly (Just Say No To Drugs) and they’ll be OK when these people voted for him because he Promised them more Resources to get more help for their children because they’re (Dying from Overdosing) I guess they’ve opened their eyes now but then maybe they haven’t???????

WOW! Everyone loves her! What’s not to
Love?! Gorgeous, rich, smart, but most of all (opposite of Michelle Obama) she cares!

Paula Johnson · October 31, 2017 at 8:42 pm

She was well “groomed” on how to do the presentation, and she did it well, I must say. That’s why he acted so proud of her. However, what he is doing is a far cry from what he stated he would do regarding the opioid problem in this country.

I care about the opiod epidemic, but support legislation that won’t provide treatment. Talk about hypocritical

Jenny Cozzie-crance · October 31, 2017 at 8:42 pm

He talked about his brothers alcoholism. My grandfather and father both died from complications due to alcoholism hundreds of thousands of people have died due to complications of alcoholism accident or suicide under the influence. Yet there’s no war against alcohol is there? It’s okay to be addicted to alcohol and drink yourself to death but pills are a problem? I love how all this country and the people pick and choose their addictions and what’s legal and what’s not and who gets help and who doesn’t! And alcoholics have taken out plenty of other people with their addiction either an accident or murder under the influence

I sometimes wonder how many of Trump’s voting base are opioid addicts.

Christine Matthews · October 31, 2017 at 8:42 pm

On Friday, the Trump administration released their annual report to Congress on White House Office Personnel.
It includes the name, status, salary and position title of all 377 White House employees. The report also said that
Trump decided not to take a dime of his salary, instead he donated it to an amazing cause! (see below).

The report also showed that President Trump is far better at saving money than Obama was. The total annual
White House salaries under trump are $35.8 million vs. $40.9 under Obama, a savings of $5.1 million. Here are
some other key findings There are 110 fewer employees on White House staff under Trump than under Obama at
this point in their respective presidencies.

Nineteen fewer staffers are dedicated to The First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS). Currently, there are five
staffers dedicated to Melania Trump vs. 24 staffers who served Michelle Obama (FY2009) However, it’s what the
report said Trump did with this salary that has everyone talking. Instead of taking his salary, Trump donated all
$400,000 to the Department of the Interior where it will be used for construction and repair needs at military
cemeteries! AMAZING! It’s so great to have a President who loves our brave military men and women so much!
Oh, and where’s the media coverage of this? Oh that’s right, they don’t cover anything good that the President does.

the whole family is a joke

There is sickness in our system and it is contagious. How many more disgraceful public feuds with Gold star families can we witness in silence before we ourselves are disgraced? How many more times will we see moral ambiguity in the face of shocking bigotry and shrug it off? How many more childish insults do we need to see hurled at hostile foreign power before we acknowledge the senseless danger of it? Trump is a danger to democracy and a danger to truth. We all know that. Debasing our great nation will be Trump’s legacy period.

Ann Ellsworth Guins · October 31, 2017 at 8:42 pm

She is so much smarter than he is.

Timothy Vandyk · October 31, 2017 at 8:42 pm

Our disgraceful American news media is picking apart and criticizing President Trump’s “war on opioids” while they remain silent about how Barak Obama did absolutely nothing to combat the problem except to repeatedly deny the fact that the majority of corner drug dealers are black.

Ricardo Sanders · October 31, 2017 at 8:42 pm

It’s called an epidemic when it only happens to white kids in the suburbs….
