Conservative logic: damn these pro athletes and their disrespect

While their own orange-in-chief shits on a dead veteran’s widow

Jim Inak · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

The primary difference between those earlier times and now is that NOW we have a “F—–g moron” (not my words but the words of Trump guy, Rex Tillerson) as President.

Ann Mitchell · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

Our young people who participate in organized sports do not give up their rights as american citizens. Those rights are not dependent on or excluded by the amount of money they are paid. And they do not need anyone’s permission to exercise those rights.

Jo Diminic · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

Protesting in sports went on for decades until Trump and Pence together ‘planted the divisive seeds’ They wanted to make a racially divisive issue of something going on in sports, since Trump already had a beef with the NFL, he had his party’s hateful platform….

Susan L Hartt · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

I remember when Martin Luther King was chastized for commenting on the economy instead of civil rights. Amazingly stupid reaction then and the action against athletes being humans with opinions is equally stupid.

Randy Gudmundson · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

Trump is right. These ungrateful morons need to respect the flag, the military, the national anthem and the country that has blessed them immeasurably. Go Trump Go. Putting America first.

Brand Eaden · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

Hands up don’t shoot was based on a lie. And the next thing you get to is from the 1960s?!? Looks like your subjective opinion doesn’t quite pan out. Kaep said he won’t stand for the flag of a country that oppresses black people. Since that is patently false, considering black people are able to succeed despite what the democrats tell them, that is showing to the world you believe a fallacy.

Todd Tatalovich · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

Two Chicken hawks: Trump and Hannity both disrespected vets a couple of weeks ago when they couldnt stop talking during a moment of silence to honor vets who gave all. Neither Trump and Hannity gave anything.

Gwen Mize · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

But Trump would let you believe that The NFL started this. Such a Hypocritical asswipe. He is always protesting something and way before he became President. Deplorable He was protesting against the rights of Native Americans to own a Casino on their own land. He was protesting the right for big corporations to take land that they wanted to expand their business. Smdh he definitely knows about protesting since he protested to keep his brother out of his father’s will.

Larry J. Hannaman · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

If education had been their focus instead of athletic pursuits, their learned opinions and political actions would garner greater credibility.

Ray Thomas · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

Yea, how many of these mother fuckers have gone back to the hood and protested black on black killings, drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence and everyday behaviors that lower the standards of living? Protest that, Stop committing crimes and stop glorifying criminals!!

Leon Shisler · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

The athletes just within the Football leagues have the power to screw millions of people big time if they can unite. Just shut down the gambling and sales attendant at the weekend games and watch the screaming. Better give them the right to speak ( or demonstrate ) their feelings or take the hit ? You choose.

Kenneth Douglas · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

All of these fake patriots who just hate black people need to shut the hell up, that’s the reason why there is opposition to the protest (hatred of black people) fuck that slave song referred to as the national anthem, the punk who wrote was a racist

Maikeru Antonī Hassurī · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

protesting racism on the field and disrespecting our country are two different things… if any other countrymen were to do that during their country’s anthem they would get no support like our athletes are getting, i would love to see team Spain do that during the world cup lol or team Italy,,, and we all know team Mexico aint gonna let that fly

Wendy Osterberg · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

Are America’s gone the ones we thought we had with our freedom our government so corrupt it’s really good that that athletes stand up and say something about it even if it is just taking a knee we all need to start doing something this is not the American America our forefathers invention for us

Pat Shenk · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

I can and will !! I’ll be damned if I’ll watch a bunch of two faced empty suits lecture me !! 90% of those idiots vote for the party that runs most of the major metropolitan areas!! Where the highest crime rates are !! Where black on black murder goes unchecked!!! They vote year after year for the party of slavery!! The same party that has done more to destroy the black man and his family than the KKK or Jim Crow EVER dreamed of !!! Most of them have ZERO credibility on their little tantrum!! ZERO !!!!

John Wilson · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

The people who are against this are the same people who supported the Vietnam war and Nixon called the silent majority. The same who supported school segregation, no minimum wage, no Roe vs. Wade… They are the recalcitrant, the Luddites, those who hold the world and society back from growth and moving forward. Why? Is it fear? Is it anger?

Connie Allen · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

Is freedom of speech an absolute right or not. Are we back to asking the “master”for permission for permission to speak, to read, to breath , even to live. Those “Master” asking permission days died a long time ago. We speak when we want to. We will not be silenced.

Denis McDanel · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

When Carter boycotted the 1980 Moscow Olympics, he forever tied sports to politics in this country. Not to mention the Olympics themselves are a form of political statement by the countries that participate. Only morons think athletes should “stick to sports”.

Irma Trujillo · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

The whole thing of standing for the flag on NFL games, is political.
NFL players did not stand for the national anthem until the Defense Dept. started paying the league to stage patriotic displays in 2009.

Kath Sugars · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

Athletes around the world boycotted Olympic Games in Germany and Russia. Countries refused to play sports against South Africa over apartheid. It’s not just in America.

Zachary Richardson · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

The best part is, you’ll see some uneducated redneck who fixes air conditioners for a living and actually think their opinion matters, but not a famous athletes opinion. They should stick to football, but the A/C man gets to have an opinion on politics.

Dannie Culver · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

You didn’t buy their right to protest injustice! They are quietly protesting. They are nonviolent and exercising their constitutional right!

Brett Clement · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

This started about police brutality. Those police are paid on their off time to protect those athletes at those games. And now those same police are walking out of those stadiums. They’re done and the rest of us are done too. Disrespect the country you live in and the people around you, you better be ready to protect yourself. Fuck the NFL and the whiney millionaires who play for it, that are disrespectful.

Joe Lequia · October 31, 2017 at 1:46 pm

Yes….protesting in sports has just been as pervasive all these years now.We were just to dumb not to notice..right?Well,stage your lame protests while much of the public finds better things to do.By the way,the whole “hands up don’t shoot” thing was a lie,and Eric Garner is just as much a victim of the liberals running New York.He was a victim in a crack down by the city over unpaid cigarette taxes.
