Marriage is defined as UNION of two human beings (male & female). Male and female unite together to bring NEW LIFE on earth, to bring NEW CITIZEN in the nation, to bring an INHERITOR into this world who will inherit their inheritance. And this UNION is the foundation of the NATION.

ST. JOHN THE DIVINE • Topic · December 8, 2017 at 2:06 pm

Eric; There is NO covenant for the eunuch (gay/lesbian) creatures of God, where they are to marry. Rather, the King hath made it clear who is not under the law of marriage in Matthew Chapter 19 KJV Holy Bible. I am looking over ALL accounts of ALL Sitting in high positions in the senate, who have held the bible high whom art attempting to change Gods laws. Time is running out for those preaching against this and trying to change the law. Removal imminent.

Peter Martin · December 8, 2017 at 2:06 pm

I wish to congratulate Eric for a forthright and clear speech directed at protecting the rights and privileges of the peoples of the Australian Federation for which over 105,000 young Australian's have died on the battle fields of the world and as many more at home as a result of their battlefield experience and to whom we owe a great debt. We ought to honour that sacrifice and uphold the freedom of speech, religion and parental rights without wavering. Thank you Eric, God Bless your going out and your coming in.

Well said Mr Abetz.

Volkx777 · December 8, 2017 at 2:06 pm

Well spoken!

Gender-fluid Marriage=112 gender identities recognised and counting on tumbler. This will accelerate gender dysphoria and mental illness. Our rights are at perilous risk of being lost!

Mark Dongen · December 8, 2017 at 2:06 pm

I am astounded and the large number of politicians listening to this talk – NOT!  We did not vote for gender fluidity but it has tagged along in every other country's vote.  How is it conceivable that a bit which allows marriage between like genders can also allow a person to stand up and say it is wrong and it is against God's law – it is an abomination?  It cannot happen because it is an absurdity, it is a contradiction to what has been approved. Laws will not have to be passed to allow the loss of personal control and freedom of speech.  How after a pair of gays have enrolled a kid in a school not be able to accuse the school of hate and bullying because ti does not teach that queers are norma, that talking of Father's day is not hurtful to the foster child; and gender fluidity has to be encouraged?  No laws will be necessary but we can see what has happened in Canada and Britain. white male, Austrlian, heterosexual, Christian is now an anathema. One minority [gays] has beaten down another.

Warren Brown · December 8, 2017 at 2:06 pm

Well spoken Senator Abetz. Sensible thoughts his fellow parlimentarians should heed.

Paddle Pop · December 8, 2017 at 2:06 pm

The alphabet people think the yes vote means yes to anything now ,  there was no question about letting gender fluidity people allowing to get married  and this is just the start of what these  things want to change well no no no no to the alphabet people for anything more than just same sex marriage

Ian Moncrieff · December 8, 2017 at 2:06 pm

How refreshing to hear a politician speak a well balanced comment that logically champions societies long established rights and freedoms. Let the "yes" campaigner's promises prior to the vote be upheld, ii.e. this vote is ONLY about SSM, nothing else!

Mk Ely · December 8, 2017 at 2:06 pm

Religion really has poisoned his mind. There is not a non religious reason to be against SSM. I am sick to my teeth of these religious right wingers pushing their religious dogma on to everybody else. If he wants to believe in a magic man in the sky he can but stop trying to force everybody else to follow their bronze era laws. I am waiting for him to condemn eating shell fish which is mentioned more times in his fairy story book.

Yanis Khamsi · December 8, 2017 at 2:06 pm

So straight couples who can't have kids or don't want kids shouldn't get married? What about common law marriages where it's just two people living together?

Juanita Brown-Duthie · December 8, 2017 at 2:06 pm

Well said and totally logical. I'd like to know where the rest of the senate were.
