“President Donald J. Trump’s fragile political standing among American voters may be about to cause dangerous reverberations in the Middle East,” CNN’s Stephen Collinson writes.

If this decision doesn’t create enough of a distraction from the Russia investigations, what is tRump’s next move? Nukes for Rocket Man?

Jack Graham · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

This is all part of Putin’s plan. Disrupt our foreign policy and our standing with our allies. Create political chaos in the US. Meanwhile, who is watching what Putin is doing in Eastern Europe, the Middle East or even back in Russia?

Tambur Dubravka · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

Back room deals with Putin and Netenyahu before he even got into power. He owes both of them big time. Keep going Mueller… because you are running out of time before this criminal gets rid of you

Lenore Dedrick Silver · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

This is what Trumpers voted for really…an authoritarian?
He will do as much damage to this country and the world before he is ousted and or thrown in jail even just with words!
Why do people not see this i dont Understand?!

Eliza Givens · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

Relax people, he is just saying this for his base but he is signing a waiver not to move it for six months and by that time, he will be gone for office. He is effectively playing to his base so they can think he did something he didn’t really do. Like the Paris accord, he made an announcement that he is withdrawing but it takes a couple of years to actually withdraw yet his base is cheering that he is fulfilling a campaign promise. Same old Donald trick to enrage people while he does absolutely nothing…. it is interesting this comes up as words come out that Mueller is investigating his finances. That old fool does nothing but fool his base of fools.

Victoria Dolan · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

Why? Not part of a coherent policy. In fact undermines what Kushner is doing in Saudi Arabia. Not a long held principle. Political gain only — and at what cost. Does he even consider the consequences to the Middle East and the people who live there? Does he listen to our allies who have urged caution? He is a dangerous man making our times more dangerous.

Cheryl Keaney · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

He is nothing but a wrecking ball.. goes from one thing to another causing trouble.. he wants a war one way or another.. so now this will cause fighting again.. more lives lost.. and he will sit at home clapping his hands with glee

Darla Williams · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

This decision was made by Congress in 1995, the Jerusalem Embassy Act. It enjoyed bipartisan support. We just never did the physical move.

Cynthia Price · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

I was pretty neutral on Trump, but knowing the History of Jerusalem and how this site is sacred to many Religions, as both Jesus and Mohammed disappeared from here (what are the odds), this is a Military Industrial Complex idea no doubt. Between that and and the Billionaire Tax Bill, im leaving neutral zone.

Jackie Allen · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

What the hell is wrong with this guy why is it his business what goes on n the Middle East you have the hungry and down trodden right here in the old USA…. Why does he insist on stirring a hornets nest where ever he goes….. Watch he’ll start this world war 111 then he’ll croak just to get out of the mayhem he’s caused

Sue Dotson · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

Well, Putin may not have gotten the sanctions removed, but the destruction of American democracy and the world??? Yeah…he’s getting that with everything Trump does. The ONLY thing that motivates Trump is MONEY.

Frank Johnston · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

Real humans will die over this symbolic move to apease a minority that is favoured over a majority who aren’t in a time of secularism

Russ Hyder · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

Well bring it on…unheaval…posh….what would that be anyway…people have to get off the religion and border issues over there…haven’t you had enough bloodshed. Wouldn’t it be nice to just live in peace and thrive in a peaceful era. I think the problem is you have known nothing but wars and fighting all your life….give peace a chance for once.

Debbie Kozar-Duus · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

Netanyahu is under investigation in Israel . Trump is digging that …they share a common interest…crooks.

Brandi Nields · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

I’m really glad that our stupidest and least educated president has decided to take on the most complex social and geopolitical issues of our time.

Roderick Cousins · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

CNN .. Why pander to Islam and the middle east …read your history and see it is the correct decision..

Betsy Wetzig · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

As Pres. trump said…. to keep on doing the same old failed policies is stupid. Reality is that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Now all parties can deal with this fact, including the UN.

Christopher R. Lucas · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

Jerusalem was part of the Ottoman Empire as long as the Roman era Judaic claim. Many religions focus on it as central to their dogma. The Book of Revelation in the Bible has a nightmarish fantasy sequence of the End of Days which is garbled because the seven headed creatures and 666 symbolized Rome and Nero respectively. Most of the Palestinian refugees who fled when Israel was formed, were Christians. To make grandiose political moves based on competing stories and claims would be to create a self fulfilling prophecy of lethal conflict of comical irony but real war.

Michelle Dewey Brown · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

No , it’s long overdue !!! Jerusalem has always been the capital of Israel !! Palestine has never been a country or a state !!!

Sandi Beacham · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

Guess there’s not enough chaos in the world for Trump, he has to do something to ramp it up. I’d like to know why Kushner is negotiating over there when he has been donating to West Bank Settlements – an obvious conflict on interest.

Richard Boughton · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

A recent article pointed out that foreign leaders have learned to ignore Trump. Hopefully this will be the case with all leaders.

Ken Spell · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

Russia conspiracy is still here Donnie. By the way you will be held accountable and fully responsible for the deaths that will now come from you not-thought-out action today. Can you name St. Petersburg the official capital of Russia for a while? Maybe you can name Fafe the capital of Spain for a while?

Linda Mitchell · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

He is deliberately trying to start a war somewhere, any where just to get the focus of the impending charges against him. He should not be believed by anyone, especially other countries.

Sheila Blaicher · December 8, 2017 at 1:10 am

Other countries and the security council have said it would be a bad move. So of course, this idiot has to do it. MAGA Impeach Trump!
