Donald Trump campaigned on his strength as an executive decision-maker. But lately, he’s been kicking tricky issues to Congress.

When Trump doesn’t want to decide, he punts to Congress

He has cast himself as an agent of action against Obama-era policies while at times appearing to push Congress to leave them in place.

So now the left is mad that Trump is not making more decisions on his own and is including Congress? Yet another example of the left just looking for something, anything to complain about! The left would complain if he made decisions without going through Congress, now they are complaining that he is going through Congress. Haters are going to hate!

By sending these thorny issues to Capitol Hill, he can stand at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue ready to take credit for anything that works and distance himself from anything that doesn’t — particularly if there’s a backlash from Republican activists.

Eric Smith · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

You mean he’s actually a healthy President that uses the bully pulpit to direct Congress instead of ruling by executive fiat like Obama did. The people at NBC are craven idiots and the people who buy into their propaganda are an even lower form of life.

Philip Yeatts · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

I hate to inform people but that is the way it is supposed to be done, congress makes laws, unlike Obama Trump wants to do it the correct way

Mikael Trotta · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

Isn’t delegating an executive decision? Then again, asking Congress to do their job by passing a law for one reason or another…I suppose isn’t a bad thing? I mean…if you’re a manager at a store and it’s the cashier’s job to…you know…cashier…and the cashier ain’t doing the job…ya think the manager is just gonna put aside his/her duties and start cashiering? Pretty sure the manager is going to have a sit down with the cashier and remind the cashier of their responsibilities. I don’t know. I could be wrong.

Trump doesn’t decide anything. He delegates his authority for every major decision. The goal is to blame everyone but himself in the event of failure. Problem is, the buck stops 100% with him regardless of how much he tries to hide. His latest failure is the attack in Niger and the tragic loss of our troops.

Rd Martin · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

…or is he pushing congressional responsibility back to Congress? You know, like it is stated in the constitution. A president is not a king there is a division of duties for a reason. Making Congress of their job could be considered being a strong executive. Only in politics is a leader holding people accountable to their jobs considered a bad thing.

Trump seems to come in, make some speech, signs an executive order that changes some of an existing Bill or a statement as to what he wants and then tell Congress to do it. No real plan as to how, just do it. When it is not done due to the weakness in the proposal or Bill, then Congress is blamed. wow

Prabhakar Kamath · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

It is not that he does not want to decide. He has no brain power to study the issues, understand them, and come up with a meaningful recommendation. So he passes the buck to Congress. He has no ideas, ideologies, imagination, concepts and vision. He is practically empty-headed.

Mitch Alderman · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

Of course, kicking to Congress is his win/win for everything. If they do, he takes credit. If they don’t, thye get the blame.

Patricia Headden-Rasmussen · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

There’s only so much he can do from the Executive Branch. Kicking legislative issues to Congress is 100% appropriate. NBC is slimy.

Jade Elaine Ryder Erhard · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

And not all of these are within the powers of Congress to resolve. For example, Congress does not negotiate with other governments.

Steve Harms · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

The Donald said he had a great healthcare plan. Apparently that plan was to sign whatever Congress passed

Eileen Whelan · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

I always wondered about the dumbing of
America, well I guess we have reached that stage, we elected Trump.

Bill Sutton · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

Congress has a specific job, as does the Supreme Court and the Executive Branch. Time for Congress to step up the others have.

Bob Crawford · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

Donald Trump has proven what many have know this whole time that he is mentally incapable of being POTUS.

Bill Sutton · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

When NBC doesn’t know what to report they turn to the DNC for orders or to NBC NEWS Chief the close friend of Harvey the Pig.

Grason Eckel · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

Trump has no legislative policy expertise, this was obviously displayed with proof beyond a reasonable doubt during the Republican primary debates.

Rotten Dem Rep. Wilson Routinely Votes Against Our Wonderful Veterans, Military Families and VA
Wilson’s voting record on veterans issues may call into question the sincerity of her recent defense of U.S. service members and their families.
Despite Wilson’s claim to be “committed to honoring our service members, not only with words but with deeds,” she has voted against most bills ensuring continued funding for veteran benefits, including payments to widows of fallen soldiers, the vote-tracking site shows.
She has also opposed measures designed to improve the Department of Veterans Affairs

It is easier to blame cats that usually do what they want. But with so many it is hard to really blame them.

Beth Rivers · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

Because he doesn’t want to be “responsible” for anything

Hugh Clark · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

When things start comeing apart he will put the blame on congress

Jean Greenfield Landman · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

He can’t understand the issues… they’re way over his IQ level.

Raymond Barone · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

He doesn’t want any blame when it all blows up.

Gail Mason · November 1, 2017 at 3:25 am

Of course so he can never be blamed!!!
