“We’ve constructed a curriculum that has inclusion as its goal, embedded in the structures of its requirements, and I’m very excited to implement and develop that curriculum further.”

Too bad they didn’t construct a curriculum with *learning* as the goal.

Are big colleges going to be a thing of the past? I could see a lot of parents seeing this kinda stuff and decide to put their kids somewhere that actually takes education seriously regardless of the low recognition.

We didn’t ‘colonize’ English, we created it. If you want to make this racial English is a ‘white’ language and anyone who is not Anglo-Saxon is appropriating and colonizing it.

We speak English. Most of the great English-speaking writers in history were white men. If you really want to study great English writing, you’re going to end up reading a lot of stuff white men wrote.

Social work grad here: me and my MSW think all of this is fucking stupid. You don’t increase diversity by excluding; you don’t understand better by silencing.

My question: were the complaints from all of two or three students? Total? I’m all for hearing everyone out but your having a different opinion doesn’t mean it’s a good one.

I don’t know where this is all leading to, but it is a dark place.

Leaving us with absolutely no context for most of Western (our) history. Fantastic.

Are we including the Near East in our definition of “White?” That would take out nearly all of early human history too.
