Ex-Donald Trump Aide George Papadopoulos Sentenced To 14 Days For Lying To Feds | Deadline | MSNBC

Curtis Baldwin · September 8, 2018 at 12:12 am

Pretty sure he gave up Sessions and Manafort early on, and Jeff folded like an accordian. Manafort will too soon enough.

Chris Choir · September 8, 2018 at 12:42 am

this is hilarious

Ollie B · September 8, 2018 at 12:43 am

"Up to five years" = 14 days and a fine…the words "up to" are really stretchable.

Lerone Q · September 8, 2018 at 1:15 am

Millions of dollars spend for an investigation an 14 days in jail… WTF.

Steve Martin · September 8, 2018 at 1:16 am

Rodeo clown 🤡

Power Factor · September 8, 2018 at 1:31 am

That Clown got off easy!

Mark Wick · September 8, 2018 at 1:47 am

No worries, the patriots of this country have had enough of these filthy lying feckless traitors, he'll get his punishment after his little 14 day vacation is over!

Melissa Johnson · September 8, 2018 at 1:56 am

14 days? Means these were ridiculous charges–set-up from FBI with 'gotcha' questions. If it were real substantial "lies"…they would've hung him. Nothing here, how dumb and desperate.

Stephen Banks · September 8, 2018 at 2:05 am

Again, nothing to do with collusion. The 14 days sentence tells you and everyone that there was nothing, no serious breach of election rules.
14 days for 'lying' to FBI about meeting some Russians brought to him by Joseph Mifsud, who was interviewed in Feb 2017 by the FBI. If George is guilty of election meddling crimes, why did the FBI let Mifsud walk free when they have him in their hands? Mifsud is supposedly the one who orchestrated this meeting of Papadapolous with the Russians for dirt on Hillary. Conveniently this fact was also left out on the FISA application.
What was left out also, was the Trump campaign's emails at that time, rejecting Papadapolous suggestions of meeting any Russians.
Trust fake news MSNBC and CNN to try spin this again into the fake Russiangate.

Only 14 days, Martha Stewart served 5 months, and she didn't commit crimes against our democracy.

Greg M · September 8, 2018 at 2:34 am

Spanky McBoneSpurs is going to be charged with obstruction of justice. Now we know why Spanky and the Republicans want Kavanaugh as a Supreme Court Justice.

Still don't think it's fair everyone around trump held accountable but trump.

wandering spirit · September 8, 2018 at 3:31 am

Russia collusion started with this guy? Hilarious. $25 mill of tax payer money spent on a bogus collusion
narrative that has backfired on the Democrats and FBI horribly.
I recall 24/7 coverage on this guy as some sort of Russia spy. I guess the mainstream media has alot
of egg to wipe off of its faces.

mr559 · September 8, 2018 at 4:01 am

That "Team Putin" sign was awesome.

Richie Rich · September 8, 2018 at 4:15 am

Still haven't figured it out? The blind leading the blind, enjoy The Last Days!

There are none, all have long bowed down to their lord and masters, the 1% PIGS! They keep you busy attacking those weaker than you. Simply because you are nothing more than their human livestock, to use as they wish. The corporate soulless 1% traitorous pigs have dumb down the public so much that now their only concern is, Reality TV & Reality Politics!
Hey Gentiles, the garbage of man has taken over; it is their time. The greedy, filthy, soulless 1% pigs are part of the corporate scum that have stolen our country. Remember the words… Choose. Choose the form of the Destructor! Goats, don't you know who you are? You chose drumpf the orange orangutan. POS drumpf was given the keys to the bottomless pit and with them was allowed to drain the swamp. Which allowed the filth of man to climb up out of it, called citizens united. As your democracy is now dead, bow down to your Lords and Masters the 1%, citizens united the filth of man. Is anyone still questioning who these traitors are?

San Diego · September 8, 2018 at 6:13 am

the "president ate my homework" plea bargain deal. 😂

Voice Of Reason · September 8, 2018 at 7:12 am

These comments of Trump haters melting is hilarious.. what's funnier, is some of them are realizing they've been duped with the Russian conspiracy theories.

Erwin Vomberg · September 8, 2018 at 9:00 am

So it is chargeable to put private interests above national interests? Very interesting way to look at things. Since when is that a rule??

Luke Bailey · September 8, 2018 at 10:10 am

14 days?! inhales bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

The Blade · September 8, 2018 at 1:06 pm

Another jail term coming out of the witch hunt. Personal gain over the good of the country. True "Patriots". USA, USA, USA

Ignez Maciel · September 8, 2018 at 1:43 pm

white colar criminals are not criminals

FortCC · September 8, 2018 at 1:52 pm

Just for perspective. Mueller asked for one month's jail time for Papadopoulus. So 14 days is not a major downgrade of sentence.

George Cass · September 8, 2018 at 2:13 pm

14 days are you kidding me 14 days

Muriel Williams · September 8, 2018 at 2:27 pm

Only 14 days smh

MR intel · September 8, 2018 at 3:12 pm

Another coffee boy goes to jail…

ROXEY · September 8, 2018 at 3:37 pm

What a waste of time and 20 million dollars !!

orlandotj1 · September 8, 2018 at 3:49 pm

Yet another dirty Republican going to jail

Zoltan Korda · September 8, 2018 at 4:06 pm

The maximum penalty for lying to the FBI is five years in prison. A man has been sentenced to a fortnight in jail for the aforementioned crime. Draw your own conclusions, America, but it would seem to me that there are two types of justice in your country: one for the rich and powerful, then the stern hand of the law for the poor. I tremble for your country's future. It doesn't look pretty.

seabean7 · September 8, 2018 at 4:06 pm

2 weeks! Are you kidding me!!! What a joke.

Christine Diaz · September 8, 2018 at 4:35 pm

Trump’s presidency has always been a lie and a complete joke. Trump’s a legend in his own mind. Pathetic!

Marcia Lynne · September 8, 2018 at 5:11 pm

Joseph Mifsud is reported by close friends of Misfud report that he has worked for US intelligence of years. He was a plant just like Stephon Halper was a plant. Goerge was set up and my likely have lied to the FBI, by not admitting he met with Russian agents ( a meeting orchestrated by Haloer,), but he clearly has a major case to file against the government. Unfortunately, that would be a very costly litigation. The government has probably already depleted this poor man of every cent to his name.

Bev Sputler · September 8, 2018 at 5:52 pm

How much time would a normal person spend in jail for lying to FBI ? Probably yrs !

Mary Wiley · September 8, 2018 at 5:57 pm

The judge must be a Trump fan.The judge said he was remorseful something that didn't see George Papadopoulos 's face.

Raging Monk · September 8, 2018 at 6:06 pm

Trump thinks it is great that Papadopoulos only got 14 days. Trump doesn't know what Papadopoulos told Mueller's team…..

Robert Williams · September 8, 2018 at 7:06 pm

Excuse my language but this pure Bull feces. If his cooperation didn't go into the equation of his lite sentence what did? Where's the deterrent to not lie? I'm an old man not from the Rap/ Hip Hop generation, but if my memory serves me correctly wasn't there a female rapper that served a one year sentence for perjury. Though the circumstances are not identical you can still roughly extrapolate and see what appears to me to be a double standard. I wish I could go into court and simply express remorse and obtain such leniency.

Bella Cruze · September 8, 2018 at 7:42 pm

14 days?

v4r0 · September 8, 2018 at 8:48 pm

14 days? Wtf..

Nicholas Osterkamp · September 8, 2018 at 8:50 pm

Lying to the government is a crime yet however the government finds it acceptable to lie to us

Manuela Costa Lima · September 8, 2018 at 9:42 pm

George Papadopoulos was sentenced to 14 days in jail — not that long for telling lies. But he's agreed to cooperate with prosecutors, hence the 2 weeks in the clink. What does George have to offer? No doubt something good. His life won't be the same afterwards. Lying to authorities comes with a high price tag. Hopefully, many others will be finding out how costly lies can be.

Mike L. · September 9, 2018 at 12:59 am

Hang in there George. With good behavior of you should be out in 40 minutes.
