In Obama’s latest speech he endorses Medicare For All. He refers to it as a new idea, even though most of the industrialized world already has Single Payer.

Obama the liar.

Chris French · September 8, 2018 at 8:28 am

Obama made student loan debt backed by the federal government immortal, it can never be absolved through bankruptcy. He gives zero shits about student debt.

Anna Summers · September 8, 2018 at 8:28 am

Yea, and the POS won the Nobel Peace Prize, and then expanded our wars… Mr environment had worse thank Reagan Interior head Ken Salazar… This guy is the biggest fraud on this earth…

Istvan Baptsan · September 8, 2018 at 8:30 am

Look at how Obama proudly pose and wait for the cheers after his lies !!! Disgusting pig !

Jim J · September 8, 2018 at 8:32 am

Take government out of my health care needs.
Privatization of health care works best in a capitalist booming economy.

lyni50 · September 8, 2018 at 8:32 am

Yes. History won’t ever forget Bernie Sanders. He’s had a YUGE effect on public discourse and somehow is actually changing the Democratic Party (kicking screaming and yes some are lying) into the current century. I also don’t think history will forget that Barack Obama is highly intelligent and can speak in complete sentences or the fact that trump is totally insane. Sometimes we have to play the hand we’re dealt.

Nutrollio Nutz · September 8, 2018 at 8:33 am

It won't work here, it would bankrupt us. Not with our weak border, 15 million illegals looking to game the system, unhealthy fat americans. Never.

disco__ · September 8, 2018 at 8:33 am

A rare clip of previous president Obama mentioning the new idea of single payer before going in a time machine back to his original election campaign to promise it

Frank White · September 8, 2018 at 8:34 am

You talk like Obama could magic laws into effect in the wake of the credit crunch – utter revisionism.

Defintely Human · September 8, 2018 at 8:34 am

Me and Sam seem to be on the same side,, but then i start listening to him and i realize…

Ross Findlay · September 8, 2018 at 8:35 am

As a UK citizen I don't understand how a guy who was President for EIGHT years that endorses free healthcare couldn't provide it for his people!! Wake up America

Martin Price · September 8, 2018 at 8:35 am

I'm not for free college (and very much consider myself a progressive). I'm a Brit and when I went to university i had about $5k per year of tuition fee loans, for three years, add to that about the same amount for living expenses (but because of low family income I also got a $5k grant each year that I didn't pay back). So when I graduated I had been given $15k free money to get myself through three years, and I had about $30k to pay back. So I'm talking about way way lower charges than you get in the US (In the UK it is now triple the amount, without any free money grants available – just more loans. Not instead of $30k debt UK students leave with $100k+).

But my point is I think I had it good, and it was better than the system of my older cousins who did have free college. I paid a decent amount towards my studies, which I then pay off as long as I have a good enough job after graduation. University is a pretty middle and upper class thing to do. To get that step up, we should pay for the opportunity – via a graduation tax system whereby the poorest of kids can still go to university if they want to.

BUT the idea that tax-paying working class folk should contribute to the higher education of richer people I think is wrong, will cause resentment, and is fuel for right wingers to take advantage of it. If we accept that those with the privilege of college should contribute towards it, then there are also budget advantages to this too.

Finally, for those who say that college is a public good and graduates contribute to the overall economy and therefore it should be free – HELL NO. Yeah it's true when its medics, public engineers etc. But if we accept that we live in a neoliberal economy then how can we say the system is broken while talk about 'public good' when it comes to free college?! Working classes shouldn't pay for the education of the bankers, the consultants, the accountants, the future politicians, the economists, and those who join the big MNCs who in the future will make their lives even more difficult than they already are.

Hope you read this Jimmy!

Fucking asshole

Ilfart 218 · September 8, 2018 at 8:37 am

The sad reality: many fools will buy his new improved bullshit.

James Gray · September 8, 2018 at 8:39 am

Failure Obama -the man who violated every moral principal known to civilization trying to get Hillary elected., while pushing TPP to deepsix working Americans even more !

Ether Detroit · September 8, 2018 at 8:43 am

This fraud of a speech by a fraud of a POTUS only helped insure a red wave this November. Everyone needs to start looking to the next election. This one is over. 😣

Ravex24 · September 8, 2018 at 8:44 am

We didn't rename "football", "soccer". England did that. Before us. Just like implementing single-payer. They hate the term "soccer" more than they hate their healthcare, though.

Augie doggie and Mimi !! · September 8, 2018 at 8:44 am

The country he and killery distorted Libya had free Heath care and free college He is a fuck

Vee · September 8, 2018 at 8:44 am

Most American voters never learn. The two party system is an illusion of choice.
There is no choice. Then the next election comes and they fall for the same B.S. all over again. Reminds me of the Charlie Brown skit where the football gets taken away each time and he falls on his butt. But somehow next time he will actually get to kick it. Not!

William Calhoon · September 8, 2018 at 8:44 am

Obama was a worthless state senator here in Illinois. Obama was a worthless U.S. Senator from Illinois. Obama was a worthless President of the United States. This speech proves beyond any doubt what Obama has been and always will be a which is a coward, liar and phony.

Liam Fred · September 8, 2018 at 8:45 am

He's so shameless

T Timeler · September 8, 2018 at 8:45 am

Oh, FUCK YOU, Obama. Either you're faking populism, OR you just were a god damn coward and didnt try to implement universal health care when you HAD POWER!! Choke on it

Cathy Morrone · September 8, 2018 at 8:46 am

Always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside and still supports not a progressive agenda but a corporate Democratic agenda which is a republican agenda. No go Obama. You had your chance.

Jay Simmons · September 8, 2018 at 8:48 am

But the liberals love him, because he wears a suit and communicates eloquently. We're in the age of celebrity. It's about the messenger, not the message.

Club Soda · September 8, 2018 at 8:48 am

Jimmy was deceived. Obama definitely knows it’s not a new idea. Obama is just trying to make slow people in the audience accept this concept since there’s still many Americans that don’t know

Elena Diaz · September 8, 2018 at 8:48 am

Obama is still worried about his legacy, he want is to be ”had a spine, although found about it belatedly”

Mark Perugini · September 8, 2018 at 8:49 am

Eric Hatchett · September 8, 2018 at 8:49 am

Ya had your chance fuck head

Frederick Gundlach · September 8, 2018 at 8:52 am

"Medicare for All", frankly, is not a new idea. The Democrats were proposing universal coverage in the 1970s. That was the late Edward Kennedy's signature issue. (That would be Senator Ted Kennedy, as he came to be known.) What happened is that the Democrats moved "right" and accepted NixonCare, and then the Republicans moved right and said pre-existing condition babies don't get coverage, and adults who don't have the card can bleed to death on the street because they "chose" not to pay the money for coverage. Obama the Hero, Obama the Disappointment, as I say. He did some really good things, but now, out of office, he decides to be a full-throat progressive?

Twirlip Of The Mists · September 8, 2018 at 8:52 am

He was for it before he was against it, and now he's for it.

James Redic · September 8, 2018 at 8:53 am

Man you are a one trick pony. That was actually a good speech he made. He spit it real. No he's not a gotdamn progressive no we haven't forgot his fuck ups. Regardless of what your talking about Jimmy to say that on that stage puts the progressive platform in the driver's seat. You are just a petty sucka man! Blah blah blah blah!
